Warli is a tribal art from Maharashta, India. Traditionally made on mud colored walls with paint made from rice paste. Warli paintings take inspiration from village life, human beings and animals using geometrical shapes in loose rhythmic patterns.
This painting is called Celebration. In the middle is tree of life. People are depicted dancing in “Tarpa” dance formation. Temple image with deity shows occasions of celebration.
